Big Idea: What does it mean to be human?

After today I should be able to: understand the difference between two characters and how it affects the plot.

Reading: read chapters 18-25 of TFA 

Agenda:

  1. Class discussion on chapters 18-25.
    1. Build on, modify, or challenge ideas you hear.
      1. Build on is to add more examples and ideas
      2. Modify is to acknowledge an observation but also point out something that is left out.
      3. Challenge is to use the same examples or evidence but come to a different conclusion.

Big Idea: What does it mean to be human?

After today I should be able to: understand the difference between two characters and how it affects the plot.

Reading: read chapters 18-25 of TFA 

Agenda:

  1. TFA Desk work
    1. Make three columns on your desk: challenge, Christian belief, Igbo belief, and effect.
    2. Identify an Igbo belief that is being challenged by the Christians and the effect of this challenge. I have included an example below.
    3. Also, come up with a list of the five best words to describe Mr. Brown and Reverend Smith. The author presents them as contrasting approaches to spreading the Christian faith.
