Daily Writing: Look at Creon's speech (545-575) about being king. What does he mean when he says, "I have no longing for the name of king. I prefer to live like one."
Agenda:
- You will be paired with another student. It is your job to fill out the who, what, where, when, and why of the crime of Laius's murder. You will create a poster for this activity.
- Who are the suspects? (give info about each one)
- What were the circumstances of the crime? (give details)
- When was the crime committed?
- Where did the crime take place?
- Why was the crime committed? (give different reasons for the different suspects)
- Class discussion based on your questions and your points of confusion.
- Paraphrase key speeches from the poem.
