Big Idea: What does it mean to be human?

After today I should be able to: break down a topic and read the sources to find important information.

Reading: You should have two books read by October 1st.

Agenda:

1. Today we will begin our second synthesis essay. We will begin by breaking down the prompt of many different essay topics.
2. Remember to argue ideas not things.
3. We will follow the same process we did for our last essay.
1. Read the prompt.
2. Identify ideas from the prompt
3. Identify positions and assumptions
4. Preview the sources by reading the first and last paragraph.
5. Break into groups and read the sources in depth.

Homework:

1. Fishtopia SAT vocabulary list. It is due by Sunday at 9PM.
2. Read your independent reading book.
