 Big Idea: What does it mean to be human?

After today I should be able to: 

Reading: You are currently reading a book of your choice. It should be done by the second week of December.

Agenda:

1. Vocabulary Review game.
2. You will write a paragraph for an essay that seeks to defend the idea that one of the characters from either Oedipus the King or Antigone is actually complex.
3. Write a thesis statement like this:
1. Although on the surface it may seem that [CHARACTER] is merely a [SIMPLIFIED TRAIT], actually [HE or SHE] possesses many layers such as...,making them a complex character.
4. Review writing a paragraph.
1. Three parts.
1. Clear topic sentence with the word "because..."
2. Evidence which includes quotes and a bridge sentence.
3. Commentary using "This evidence suggests...Consequently if,... Therefore, due to the fact that,..."
5. Using this rubric, give yourself a grade on your English Journals. Provide a paragraph in the private comment section of this assignment that argues for why you should receive that grade.
6. Work on your Greek Tragedy slides.
